Description : The report contains the proceedings of the General Meeting of the BCCI held on 3rd June, 1865. It calls for the extension of time for loading and unloading cargoes without charge for the customs officials, payment of customs duties by bank cheques, stamps on bills of sales for transfer of ship property in India. Some other subjects discussed in the report are wet docks, the moorings, the river trust, the burning of the 'Lincolnshire', the Mutlah, the Budget, the duty on saltpetre, abolition of export duties, Australian mails for Calcutta, an overland mail system between Calcutta and England, cotton cultivation in the North West Provinces, and the state of the Chamber's finances.
