Description : The report contains the proceedings of the General Meeting held on 13th December 1865. It discusses the assassination of the president of the USA, mooring accomodations for vessels loading and discharging cargo, abolition and refund of additional export duties, duty on machinery, the condition of the Strand Bank, publication of weather reports on the Telegraph Gazette, meteorological observations, detention of mails at Galle, increased steam postage from Calcutta to China, Cape of Good Hope, Mauritius, the Australian colonies, etc, measurement of jute during the rainy season, screw moorings, mildew damage on cotton piece goods, and grain crops in Bengal. It proposes that Saturday be declared a half-holiday.
